Library of Congress Peer 2 Peer Discussion on Technology Tools

This week found us featured as guest speakers for the Library of Congress Peer2Peer Discussion.

This month’s TPS Consortium Peer2Peer Discussion focused on “What technology tools and trends are you observing in K-12 teaching?” Michelle Pearson and Laura Israelsen, both teachers who work closely with the TPS Western Region team, will lead an interactive demo featuring a few popular technology tools for teaching followed by peer discussion of these and other K-12 tech tools, related trends, and effective practices observed by TPS programs nationwide.

That was quite a tall order and one that we had a hard time narrowing down! What technology tools and trends are you seeing? Our list has changed during this education revolution and remote learning focused time. We shared four technology tools that have transformed our remote instruction and shared in breakout room using Padlet. Participants were able to add to the Padlet and discuss in small groups what they were seeing trend in instruction, learning and education right now.

We discussed Pear Deck, Adobe Spark, Google Arts and Culture and Padlet. Notice all of the resources in the presentation.  There are astronauts with flags marking links to other presentations and one page resources for these tools. The time flew by and we hope that our participants left with resources, ideas and energized to try something new!
